Mobile eSewa Vans Launched to Enhance Access to Digital Court Services in Remote Areas

The Mobile eSewa Vans (MeSV), equipped with modern technological facilities such as video conferencing systems, high-speed network connectivity, display boards and power backup systems, were launched by the Hon’ble Justice Harish Tandon, Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court, on October 13, 2026. The initiative aims to facilitate access to various digital judicial services, including virtual court hearings, e-Filing, e-Payment, legal awareness programmes and e-Mulaqat, particularly for litigants residing in remote and underserved areas.

The Mobile eSewa Van successfully completed its first deployment at Phulnakhara, Cuttack, connecting local litigants to a virtual court hearing conducted by the JMFC, LR Court, District Court, Cuttack. The hearing was facilitated through the video conferencing system installed in the van, with technical support provided by the Technical Assistant and the Remote Point VC Coordinator of Cuttack Judgeship.

This initiative marks an important step towards bringing digital judicial services closer to the people, reducing geographical barriers and improving access to justice through technology.
